Visiting TUI to learn more about this employment sector

Last week, NWSLC Travel and Tourism students were invited to the TUI Superstore at Beaumont Ley, as part of a Taster Day. This is the 3rd year that they have been invited to the store and the students benefited from learning about the requirements of applying for an apprenticeship or a job role, as well as all the benefits in working for one of the world’s largest tour operators.

In addition to their introduction, the students spent time on the shop floor with members of staff, as they engaged with customers and picked up some great customer service tips and selling techniques. They also learned about the recent changes to the product line-up and had a peek at the many different systems which the staff have to use in order to provide an excellent service to all their customers.

Whilst there, they met Ellie, a member of staff who in the summer months works overseas for TUI as a Holiday Rep, and in the winter she comes back to the UK and works in the TUI Store. Ellie talked about the flexibility that working for a tour operator can offer.

Carol and Annika, who were their guides for the day, were very informative and enthusiastic about the possibility of what a career at TUI could promise.

Our students were really happy with how everything went and we want to say a big thank you to TUI for looking after them so well.
